While these principles promise enhanced autonomy and trust minimization, they simultaneously introduce substantial usability and accessibility constraints. Despite the rapid expansion of Decentralized application (DApps), mainstream adoption remains constrained, largely due to persistent user experience (UX) deficiencies that hinder seamless interaction and cognitive accessibility. This paper systematically investigates the principal UX challenges within the Web3 ecosystem. Key obstacles include complex onboarding workflows, non-intuitive wallet initialization processes, private key and seed phrase management burdens, inconsistent interface standards, ambiguous transaction fee (gas) structures, and limited transparency in smart contract interactions. Unlike traditional Web2 applications that abstract backend complexity, Web3 systems often expose cryptographic operations and transactional mechanics directly to end users, thereby increasing cognitive load and the risk of user error. The study further analyzes how fragmented design paradigms, lack of standardized human–blockchain interaction models, and inadequate feedback mechanisms contribute to usability friction. Security requirements—such as irreversible transactions and self-custody of assets—compound these issues by placing greater responsibility on users, potentially discouraging non-technical participants. In parallel, the research highlights emerging innovations aimed at improving UX in Web3 environments. These include account abstraction models, social recovery mechanisms, gasless transaction frameworks, human-readable wallet addresses, progressive disclosure design patterns, and AI-assisted onboarding systems. Additionally, usability enhancements through responsive interface design, contextual guidance, integrated identity solutions, and cross-platform interoperability are examined as pathways to reducing friction and improving accessibility. Through qualitative and comparative analysis of real-world DApps, wallet interfaces, and supporting middleware tools, this study identifies actionable design principles for developing intuitive, secure, and inclusive decentralized applications. Emphasis is placed on user-centered design methodologies, iterative usability testing, accessibility compliance, and behavioral analytics to optimize engagement and trust. The findings suggest that bridging the usability gap in Web3 requires harmonizing decentralization principles with human-centered interaction design. By integrating robust security mechanisms with simplified user journeys and transparent transactional processes, Web3 platforms can significantly enhance user engagement, reduce entry barriers, and accelerate broader adoption across diverse demographic groups.
